In 2020, Velumani inaugurated the ₹230-crore Noyyal River rejuvenation project covering 158.35 km across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Karur districts. The project included work on 18 check dams, 22 ponds, damaged dams and sluice gates, strengthening of pond banks and desilting.
